Larkindesign Creative Team | Hannah Lemieux ft. Diamonds Cut File!!!

Aloha!! I am in love with the Diamonds Cut File from this month!! It's so intricate and the possibilities are limitless on the ways to use this gorgeous cut file. I have found one of my favorite things with cut files that use a lot of paper but with lots of cut outs I love using patterned paper. Depending on the patterned paper you can get a completely different look to the file, which is so cool. I ended up using a really neutral patterned, a light colored wood grain. The wood grain had a variety of light and dark tones, which I think really stand out with this cut file.

The 12x12 patterned papers in The Heart Is Home collection can be used for digital scrapbooking or you can print off at home for patterned paper. I used a thin card stock in white to print off my paper. I only have a 8 1/2 X 11 printer size which means I can in my settings to make the patterned cover the whole paper, but will look a bit bigger, because the paper is smaller and the pattern can really fill the space. You could also size it to the original size and it will leave white edges on two sides to make a square within the 8 1/2 X11 space. This will make your pattern a bit smaller. If you cutting up your paper for layering this is a really nice way to print your pattern.

I used gold watercolors to paint all the leaves on the patterned paper. I used my nice gold watercolors for a really nice bunch of metallic on the pattern. It really makes this pattern feel so elegant.

After I let the gold dry I dropped Shimmerz Vibez, which is a spray onto the pattern. I thought about coloring or painting the flowers but I kind of like the messy splatters mixed with the filled in neatly leaves. I used a red with gold in it because I knew I wanted to use the Creekside collection from One Canoe Two.

I often like to keep my media really simple when I use patterns and cut files that are really intricate. This keeps the focus on the pattern and cut file instead on all the media, and the media plays a supporting role in focus.

For this layout I did lots of busy cutting and cut out the flowers from this floral patterned paper from One Canoe Two. I used the fussy cut pieces to layer with other embellishments and die cut elements.

On the bottom right hand side I layered embellishments and the title on the fussy cut flower. This is the corner is where my picture is in with lots of layers too. I really had fun building layers on this layout.

I used really soft and coordinating papers and pieces when layering behind my black and white photo. I loved how I was able to use the Girl Squad die cuts from Pebbles from my stash on this layout. I like how those black pieces looks with the photo. I had a blast making a layout about this amazing group of ladies I have gotten really close too this past year. I always take advantage to document these moments in my life that help tell my story for my kids. I want them as the are older to get to know me, as a woman with strong positive relationships.

These black foam Thickers just pop off the Larkindesign patterned paper. Just the look I was going for, so feminine and sophisticated.

I finished off the layout with this cluster with a Maggie Holmes tag sticker and pink button. I then used Heidi Swapp Color shine, to bring out the gold paint I used on the patterned paper.

I hope you are inspired to check out this amazing cut file and patterned paper. I hope you share when you use Theresa's gorgeous designs too.

I can't wait to share a bit more of what I made this month with the February files on my social media account. Be sure to find out more about me on my About Me Page! Thanks for joining me today!

Hello everyone and a happy late February to you all! I hope this finds you well! Today I am sharing my February projects with you using the February The Heart Is Home collection. You can find these in the links below.

The first project I completed was in my Travelers Notebook insert from Michaels.  A couple of months back the music company I work with did headshots and the photo on the left is definitely my favorite (it's my profile picture for all social media relating to my blog).

I started out by using a 12X12 paper from this month's kit that is white with black polka dots. I enjoy having a simple background that won't detract from everything else but isn't just plain white. My large format printer has definitely been getting it's use with the wonderful papers that Theresa creates.

I really enjoyed that purple quote card from the kit so I decided to print that out and use it as it is. I also printed off the 3X4 "dot to do" patterned card but decided to use some of my punches to make things more interesting. I even left the pink on the card (the beauty of digital products is that you can change the colors to fit your style if necessary) this time! Go me!!! I cut a couple of flag banners and a circle or two to use on my layout. I have been really inspired by Essie and Dee and have been trying to emulate some of their ideas. I printed off the "colorful floral" card to use as my journaling card.

I added various word phrase stickers from my collection, but I am not sure where they all are from.... some of them are from Ali Edward's Story kits I believe.

I added some red stars from my stash and called this layout good. I am kind of considering going back and either rewriting the journaling or adding more to that card because it looks wonky. Have you ever gone back and made adjustments to your journaling after a few days?

The second project I did using this month's kit was a pocket page spread in my personal album using the Pocket Photo Templates from this month! The templates can be purchased here.

The left card is just a 12X12 patterned paper printed on a 3X4 card. I also used the 3X4 template B for the right card and the 4X6 template B for the 4X6 card. Adding pictures was relatively easy for me in photoshop once I measured the size of the squares (I'm sure there is a better way to do this but I am new to photo templates so forgive me) and added my journaling in the blocks provided.

I love the ease of these photo templates that she provided and I definitely can't wait to use more of them in the coming months in my Project Life album. Be sure to check out my About Me page where you can connect with me on your favorite social media. Thank you for joining me today!

Book of Me | Awesome Ladies Project | Currently February Prompt

Hi everyone, today I am sharing how I worked with the February prompt in my Book of Me, which is part of The Awesome Ladies Project. The February prompt invites you to document your  life currently, along with a selfie photo. I also have journaled a bit about where I am currently in my healing process. Note: sexual assault is mentioned in this video.

My jumping off point for this month's prompt was the Currently stamp and 3x4 cards available in Kristin's shop here. This prompt is designed to give you the opportunity to document some things about your life currently.

I took the opportunity to also journal a bit about where I am in my healing process. Healing from any kind of trauma is ongoing, but sometimes things happen to bring it to the surface as well. For my journaling I wrote a bit about the things I am learning right now. I read the journaling in the process video, so I encourage you to read it there.

I printed my journaling on a sheet of patterned paper from the Maggie Holmes collection and added a tiny strip of washi at the top. I then backed the whole thing with another paper from Flourish. I love the black and white with just the tiniest bit of pink behind.

I wanted to use this fun little date die cut, it's an old one from Studio Calico that I have been hanging onto forever. I added the month using some alphabets from Simple Stories and added a tiny chipboard plus sign over the month on the card.

I did fill out the Currently card, and slid it into the pocket page. I also created a little filler card with the black and white patterned paper plus a butterfly chipboard and little leaf. The leaf is from Freckled Fawn, although the Flourish collection has gold leaves in it too!

The photo is taken in my studio while doing chat videos for my classes. I also added a few more chipboard embellishments.

The back of the die cut is stamped with arrows from the Currently stamp set and a Studio Calico stamp in the center. And again, more black and white.

Thank you for following along with me today! I am loving this project and loving the prompts. I hope you are inspired too!
