Hybrid Project Life |2017 Week 15 ft. The Lilypad Memory Pockets Monthly June Curious

Hi guys! This is part 1 for my hybrid layout for Week 15 in my 2017 Project Life album, the digital portion in Photoshop. In this video I will share my process for creating the digital layout and the following video will be my process for embellishing the printed layout!

Once my layout is created in Photoshop, I print the layout using my Canon wide format printer onto Staples brand matte photo paper. Then the fun of embellishing begins! Have a look at that process video here:

Here is a look at the full layout!

I was really excited to use this date card - those angles are great opportunities to add the alphas and numbers! I also added a transparent flower from Freckled Fawn into the white space.

Our stories this week began with Spring Break and the highlight of the week was our adventure to Dave & Busters to play video games ALL DAY LONG! We also spent some time at the park, went to McDonald's, and watched April the giraffe finally have her little baby!

The layout this week is photo heavy, which is really awesome and that means I like to keep the embellishing light. Just a few floral elements and stamped elements here and there, plus some added hand written journaling.

I am loving using some of the smaller photos with a solid color background and text beside. It also gives the layout some added visual interest!

For this photo of the girls I backed it with a journal card instead of journaling. I just love everything about it - the dreamy photo and the fun pattern plus the happy heart. All the good things!

Look how grown up they are all getting! I know I have spoken before about how great it is to be proud of the environment you are photographing in (ie your house!), and this photo is proof of that. Our house is not perfect by any means, but we have worked hard to make it a comfortable place to be and also a pretty back drop for our photos. I love that!

Did you notice how I used the numbered journal card to create a manifesto of sorts? I simply stamped all of the word strips on the Becky Higgins roller stamp for a fun filler card.

Do you include current events on your Project Life layouts? I admit I don't very often, but I did grab a few screen shots of April and her baby giraffe and included it here. That was such a fun event to follow along and I feel like I learned so much about giraffes in that process, did you?

Traveler's Notebook Layout | Favorite Things Summer Edition

Hi guys! Recently Gossamer Blue began a traveler's notebook subscription that is designed by one of my favorite designers, France Wisniewski of Bananafishstudio! So of course I had to subscribe and wanted to share with you a layout I created in the May notebook. I plan to use this notebook to document some of my favorite random things this summer, and my first layout is about a crochet wrap I finished up.

So yes, I am aware that it is weird to start a summer notebook with a winter crochet project! I actually think it's kind of funny in a hilarious sort of way - I always end up finishing crochet projects like scarves and wraps in the summer and then it is months before I can actually use it. Ha! This one took me about two years to finish, and as is typical for me I forgot my stitch so I just had to finish it up somehow. It was definitely big enough, so I just added a really full ruffle around the entire border and called it done.

So enough about crochet, let's talk about the layout! The first thing I did was put down washi tape on the center across the two pages. The washi is from Crate Paper Oasis and serves to flow the layout from one side to the next. I am in love with the pink plus sign paper so I used it on the left hand side. I added a simple label and dated it, and then added the tiniest little blooms to the top.

On the right hand side I used the star circle stamp going off the page as a home base for the Delightful word art. That word art ties in all the colors of the layout!

Then around the photo I added another floral die cut, the epoxy paper clip which I LOVE, and at the bottom another word strip. I also repeated some of those adorable tiny puffy stickers around the layout as well because how could I not?!

Ah, these notebooks are so much fun and so easy! Also a side note, I used not only the traveler's notebook kit but also the Life Pages kit from May 2017 on this layout. Thanks for joining me today!

My Very First Felicity Jane Kit Willow | A 12x12 Layout BE

Hi guys!!!! I am so very excited to share my first layout created using a Felicity Jane kit, Willow! And I am in love! This is another layout in my series called Things I Need to Hear, and I hope you love it as much as I do.

Have a look at the completed layout!

I began with this gorgeous black and white patterned paper as my base, and layered on several coats of gesso to help the embellishments stand out.

I used the delightful triangle stencil that was included in the kit to add a pop of color and also to give my embellishment clusters a home base. There are three clusters which now form the visual triangle around my photo.

The floral die cuts in the kit were so much fun to layer around Willow! My photo is layered on top of patterned papers, and the floral die cuts are layered in between. I also stamped some random flowers around each cluster. There is so much to look at!

My title came about because of this stamped sentiment - my purpose in creating these layouts is to bolster my own self-esteem by reminding myself of things that I need to hear but often don't get to hear. I hope we will all be our own kind of beautiful today! We all embody beautiful in our own unique ways, and that is awesome!
