Hi friends, I am sharing with you another art journal layout today and I will start out by saying this one is a mess! And that is the whole point of art journaling - to create a big mess and allow the process to happen and embrace the outcome. Embrace the outcome because there is joy simply in creating and simply in working with the different mediums and papers and colors. Have a peek at my process:
Here is the finished layout:
I started with papers from Papyrus and a paper bag from a local shop, and then just layered from there.
I was also inspired by a stamp set I have had in my collection for a while, which is designed by Alisa Burke. Her website and shop can be found here: Alisa Burke (enabler warning, she is an amazing artist! Here is a link to the stamp set I used, which is available for purchase in her shop here: Doodle Flowers.
I adore the silhouette I used, which is one of Julia Nutting's dolls created for Prima. Rather than use the stamped image, I used the patterned side of the paper, and then used her dress as the home for my stamped sentiment (also Prima stamps).
One thing I love about art journaling is that it gives me opportunity to work with tools and mediums and colors and textures, and then look back over the layout to 1) love my work and pat myself on the back for trying different things; and 2) ask myself if there is anything I would do differently in the future. There are several things I might do differently, and I do hope to revisit this layout at a later date to try these same elements in another way. That is how we learn and that is how we stretch our own creativity! I hope you will be inspired today to use your own products to create something fun and happy. See you back tomorrow with Project Life!
