Hi there, it's another lovely December day and we are moving right along. I almost feel a slight panic when I see the 17th of December on my calendar - there's still so much left to do! I have caught up on the process videos and have Days 14 thru 16 for you to see right here. Then stay tuned to see Day 17, ok?
Alright, now for Day 17. Here is the layout as I created it for the Foundation Pages:
And here it is completed and in the album!
We had Nick's first National Academic League competition, and no photos were allowed. No worries, though, because it was still a great opportunity afterwards, to get a photo of the three of them. Natalie was sick so she wasn't able to go with us. That is ok. I placed the photo on top of the transparency and added the two banners plus another gold star.
I absolutely love these silver stars and they are perfect layered with the little tiny seventeen chipboard word.
For the right hand side I used the top card for journaling. I love the messy lines (Ali Edwards uses those a lot in her layouts and they are so easy to create).
I took out the vellum card so I could add some of the word strips to make a sentence. I also added another strip of washi tape across the bottom, just to make it more cohesive (maybe? I dunno....).
The other two pockets I left alone. I am so happy for all the work I put into the foundation pages, so that completing the actual days is so very simple.
Here is one more look at the overall layout, outside of the album:
I am loving this project so much, and am so thankful that you are following along with me. Now go, do, and create! I'll be back tomorrow with Day 18!
See you soon,
**December Daily is the creative brainchild of scrapbooking genius Ali Edwards, and is a process of documenting December memories by photographing and writing stories each day. To learn more about this project, and find links to shop for products, please visit her website here.
The numbers 14 and 18 are part of the set of subway numbers that I purchased from a local shop called Vintage Jane, here in Kernersville, NC. The blog for this shop can be seen here.
Occasionally in my projects I use items that, sadly, are discontinued or no longer available but they still deserve attribution. The Good Times banner is from an old Gossamer Blue kit.
