Project Life 2016 Week 2 Layout 1

Hi there and welcome back! I am moving into Week 2 in my Project Life album and have two layouts to show you this week. Today's layout is a hybrid layout - remember last week when I showed you how to bring your Ali Edwards journal cards into the Project Life App so you can use them in your digital layouts? Well, this layout shows what that looks like!

I am so very happy with how this turned out. Here is the layout as I created it in the Project Life App:

Project Life 2016 Week 2

I just love how easily it came together in the App, and how lovely the journal cards look with the photos. Now time to add my journaling and some embellishments. I drew from the physical products that came in the Old + New story Kit by Ali Edwards.

I have to admit that I love the actual working with the physical product. Any of these embellishments could have been added digitally but for me personally, I love the dimensionality (is that even a word?!) and I love moving them around on the page. I especially couldn't wait to use those cork hearts.

Also, those chipboard circles rock.

The theme of this kit was Old + New, or then and now, but I focused on the now for this layout. The story of this layout is actually how my son never really was completely happy in elementary school, but now that he is in middle school he is actually loving it. I've talked before about how he got into the National Academic League, and on this day they won their first match.

I kept the journaling very simple but let the embellishments tell some of the story too. Especially the word stamps here:

That is today's layout! Stay tuned this week because I am working on a Planner layout and a #TBT layout that I cannot wait to show you. Have a great week and now be sure to go, do, and create!
