Hello and happy Thursday!!!!! It's a TBT day here so I am working in my 2014 Project Life album and am using an older collection, Amy Tangerine's Finders Keepers! Have a look at my process video for this week:
To say that I am a Fangerine would be an understatement. I have long been a fan of Amy Tangerine and love following along in her inspired journey. Every time I pull her products to use I am thrilled with the results!
This layout became a layout about back to school for all the kiddos, so there are photos from both open house and the first day of school. I blended these two weeks, 34 and 35, into one layout in order to make it easier and more cohesive.
For the left hand side I began with my title card. I am in love with those chipboard alphas and love how they layer over the patterned paper!
These die cut journaling cards are simply awesome. I decided to back them with gold tape from Heidi Swapp just to add a little bling to the layout. Dates and journaling are really all that is needed here!
This photo has some technical issues (holy yellow, Batman!) but I wanted to include it anyway. I have to tell you that Open House for us is a tad bit stressful: it is challenging to make our way to three classrooms in one night! But the kids do love seeing where they are going to be and where the others will be! These nights are a flurry of filling out forms and making sure of bus schedules, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
Ok, we are not anywhere near California and we do not have palm trees anywhere near us, but I still love this filler card. I just added the gold star stickers and called it done.
These two cards make me mega happy. The houses, the colors, and the simplicity. I also repeated the mint green sticker on white cardstock here.
This dude was excited to have his photo taken that night. I love capturing them in their classrooms - Open House is about the only opportunity to do that and I try every year. Sometimes they don't want to have their photos taken and I have to let it go. But this guy was excited and happy, and that makes me happy.
The right hand side includes photos from the actual first day of school, right before they hopped on their busses. The title card is so fitting, isn't it?!
I repeated the gold tape behind the mountains here, and added a simple arrow clip to hold the card in place.
How long has it been since I did a transparency pocket?! I don't know really, but this collection has two transparencies and I chose to use this one. Perfect!
This one is off to middle school. He is off to make all new friends and experience school in a new county this year. Big changes, but good changes. I am so happy for us!
I am realizing that our front porch becomes the back drop for many awesome memories and photos now, and that is really awesome. Both of these photos are iconic to me, and I hope they will help our kids remember how close they all are. These guys have cried tears that no children should have to cry, but here they are big, giant, happy smiles. I am so thankful for this.
I repeated the date card here but altered it slightly. These lemons slay me! More simple journaling, and the story of this layout is told.
One more photo at the bus stop. This is actually the bus stop at Nick and Natalie's Dad's house, which is significant because they have been getting on the same bus, with the same driver, since Nick was in Kindergarten. This bus stop is an important piece of their life. So glad I captured that.
Thanks so much for joining me today! This was definitely a fun layout to work on! See you back here tomorrow for a traditional layout!
