Hi you guys and welcome to my newest adventure in scrapbook-land, my Traveler's Notebook!!!!! I had a bit of an A-HA moment about a month ago and realized how cool these notebooks are. Have a look at my first process video and how I decided to set up my notebook for the month of July:
That was a long video, I know, but my hope is that it was filled with information and ideas and some other resources as you go about your own creative process! I have just a few photos to show you. I decided to begin a traveler's notebook when I was researching ways to document our upcoming trip to Charleston. Well, sometimes research leads you somewhere and you never are really the same. That is how I feel about my traveler's notebook. My world has been forever changed and how I journal and how I document my life just got interesting!
I chose to order the Webster's Pages Color Crush notebook, and I ordered three inserts from Yellow Paper House to go inside. I have added a tassel from Dear Lizzy and a copper medallion from Tim Holtz to the little tag that came with the notebook. Each tag says a different thing, and mine says Planner Girl.
This is what my notebook looks like when it is opened. I have a few shaped paper clips, my journaling strips from Ali Edwards Believe Story Kit, and two of the sticky notes from Fancy Pants Attwell collection. You can see my inserts which have now been covered with papers from my Gossamer Blue June kits, namely Pinkfresh Studio and Simple Stories. The washi tape and black summer clip are from Freckled Fawn's June planner kit.
My first insert is my planner insert, and it is a Daily planner from Yellow Paper House. This is what it looks like when you open it. The stamps are from Gossamer Blue and Kerri Bradford. The washi tapes are from Hobby Lobby.
The daily planner insert has a month view calendar in it, but I needed a little more space so I created my own and adhered it on top of the existing calendar. Nothing fancy, just a simple Excel spreadsheet formatted to fit across the two fold-outs.
This calendar is mostly used to help me plan my blog posts and videos, so I can keep up with what I plan to publish and what has been accomplished on each release.
I don't intend to show you each page, because that could be rather tedious (!) but these are a few that I created.
My goal was to add a few washi tapes and some watercolors just to add a little color and visual interest.
Throughout the month I will be adding my daily task lists and some journaling as well to complete the pages.
My plan each month is to show you a set-up post like today, and then come back once the month is finished to show you how it ended up.
As I mentioned in my video today, we are going to be gone on vacation next week in Charleston, SC! So my normal videos will not be released, however I will be showing you some process videos from my Gardener's Notebook on Tuesday and Thursday! Then I will be back the following week with a full production schedule. I hope you all have a great weekend!
See you soon,
